BC Soccer Provincial Championship Update

Good Morning Members and Affiliate Clubs,

“Although BC Soccer has been working with the Provincial Government through Sport BC and ViaSport on a “Return to Play” plan, the ability to successfully host tournaments involving large gatherings and participant travel, is significantly affected by the uncertainty of our continuing health situation.

At this past weekend’s (May 9th) regular meeting, the Board determined that in the best interests and safety of everyone involved, the Youth Provincial A Cup scheduled for South Surrey, and the Youth B Cups in Kamloops and Vernon would be cancelled, along with the Interior Regional Cups scheduled for June.

In addition, the Premier Cup, which was to be held in Richmond, is also cancelled.  However it was agreed that should conditions change, and if Canada Soccer proceeds with National Championships this year, then BCSPL Clubs at U15 and U17 should be given the opportunity to qualify if it is possible to do so.”

Stay safe.
