Footballer of the Week- Sachdev Grewal

Sachdev; better know as Sach, is registered with the Westcastle U21 team – but he does not just play there.

He likes the challenge of Division 1 and always looks to get extra games via the permit. He is a Keeper.  In a recent weekend of VISL competition, he played up on permit with Lakehill & Westcastle Div 1 teams (in 2 separate games) and earned a shutout in each game.

Sach started playing age 5 then started goal-tending at 14.  Started with PSA in Calgary then came to Victoria in September 2016 into PSI.  First game for Westcastle Div 1 was November 2016 where his team tied Vic West 1-1 and he earned them the point.

Favorite memory within the VISL is winning Cup Winners Cup at RAP by beating Cowichan on penalty shots.

No rituals or superstitions……that he is willing to go on record with

His favorite pro team is Barcelona, and his favorite player is Marc-Andre ter Stegen (Barcelona keeper since 2014 now #1)

Sach’s ambition – to play for Canadian national Team.

Also, a high-lite in the not too recent past, Sachdev was called into duty with Pacific FC where he played up via a developmental contract for a couple weeks.

A solid guy who loves the game and just want to play.

Congrats to Sachdev – this weeks Footballer of the Week brought forward by the VISL.

He will get a limited edition FOW tshirt, and some other other swag courtesy of some VISL sponsors.
