Sara Hoffer and most of her teammates advanced to the U16 Girls Gold division this season after being last year’s U15 Girls Silver champions. Sara was an inspirational team captain guiding her team in league and cup play with an impressive goal count in 2017/2018. Moving divisions to gold this year hasn’t slowed her down on or off the field of play. She is still scoring goals in her new division and setting a great example of Soccer for Life. Sara refs all day, plays for her own team, AR’s in the women’s league and even got a hat-trick one weekend while on a permit in a Sooke Division 3 game. Sara has also permitted for the VI Wave in the BC Soccer Premier League. She just can’t get enough soccer!
Sara is showing no signs of slowing down which is a tribute to her hard work and dedication. Respected by her peers and coaches, her coach, Rob Oyler states “it has been a wonderful privilege to be Sara’s coach for the last four seasons”.
Sara was nominated by Sooke Soccer Club. We wish your team good luck in District Cup and hope to see you in Sooke at the end of the season. Congratulations on being this week’s Footballer of the Week.
