Taryn Emerson | Div 3 Prospect Lake

Before the beginning of the 2018-2019 season, along with registering as a player, Taryn took on the role of team manager/coach for the Prospect Lake Division 3 team. Taryn has played for Prospect Lake since she first started playing soccer in 2001. After graduating from the youth soccer system, Taryn and the majority of her teammates took over the Division 3 team, where they have remained competitive for the past 5 seasons. The team currently has two remaining regular season games with the chance of being in the top four in their 13 team division.

Taryn’s primary position is goalkeeper however, she has been known to play striker occasionally and cause havoc for defenders. She is a great example of a young player who shows passion and commitment not only for the sport of soccer but most importantly for her teammates and club members. Taryn played as a call up in a handful of games for Prospect Lake’s Premier Women’s team last season, helping them to a number of wins when they were without a goalkeeper. Most recently she was honoured by being selected as an All Stars coach during the Division 2/3 game held on January 6, 2019.

Taryn is a reliable and committed individual.  She graduated from Camosun College, in 2018, with a Bachelor of Sport and Fitness Leadership (Sport Management Specialization / Internship Designation). She served as a Fitness and Wellness Ambassador during the last year of her studies, where she contributed to Camosun’s Fitness & Wellness blog.

Please join us in congratulating Taryn on her Footballer of the Week nomination, and wish her the best of luck in final weeks of the season.
