Stacey de Lusignan
Cowichan Cougars O30A (LIWSA)
LIWSA is proud to put forth Stacey de Lusignan from the O30A Cowichan Cougars. If you have ever been her opponent, you will more than likely have witnessed the intense competition, passion and giver-it-her-all attitude at pretty much every game. She is known for her blistering free kicks (and crosses) and intensity in practices and games. She is known by several nicknames: Lasagna, High Beams (for her intense playing style), and Team Canada (due to mistaken identity when she first joined the team.
Stacey grew up playing in Vancouver before getting a scholarship to Arkansas State University until a knee injury stopped her career there. Her team loves her not only for her play on the field, but also how she fits in with them on a social basis. Stacey is always up for a good time and her Halloween party each year is usually why Cowichan always loses on that weekend. In fact, she is so social that she is often called upon in practice to demonstrate the drill that was just explained and she will have to admit she has no idea what they are doing. And not surprisingly, not only does she play, she manages to find time to coach her children as well.
Congratulations Stacey, a well-deserved nomination!
