Emily Warkentin

The playing manager!

All too often some of the volunteers on our teams are just forgotten, more specifically the team managers, which many take on dual roles on and off the pitch.

This week the LIWSA would like acknowledge the efforts of one of these tireless workers. What would a coach and team do without them.

Emily Warkentin the playing manager for Vic West United Div.1 is that and more. Emily is originally from Prince George where she played youth soccer for the Prince George Kodiaks. She arrived to Victoria at the age of 17 in 2013 to attend U-Vic and attain her degree in Biology. Emily not only was the team manager but was also the team MVP last season. A three time LIWSA All-Star and best of all, she plays all positions on the field and plays them well. Yes, when called upon you can even find her minding net for her team!

The LIWSA applauds Emily and all team managers for all they do for their teams, our association and the game of soccer! Stepping up and helping out is what it is all about! Well done Emily!
