Dale Sparrow

Less than a week ago snow was falling and games were being cancelled. On Friday night Dale Sparrow, the Bays United field scheduler was tirelessly walking fields, updating websites and blowing hot air (no just kidding) but by the look of the field we know he had a hand in ensuring it opened! Bays United commends Dale’s tireless commitment to the work behind the scenes to schedule games and work in the best interest of all the players with the facilities at his disposal.

Those on the inside of Victoria soccer know Dale was instrumental in the details and finalization of Finlayson turf field and this knowledge ensured Oak Bay High turf build was a similar success.  We know he will also have a hand in the Topaz Park revitalization/master plan changes.

We know the hours field schedulers put in during season start up, when it snows, when it rains when it is cup play and when they get dealt more games than usual on a particular weekend. We know there are times they are checking fields at 11pm at night and again 6:30am just like Dale Sparrow last weekend and we all owe them all tons of support and gratitude.  Therefore Footballer of the Week honorable mentions to all club field schedulers, we’d be lost without you!
