Riley Chow

This week’s Footballer of the Week is Riley Chow from the U14 West Team. The West franchise plays in the Vancouver Island Premier League (VIPL) which is Tier 2 youth soccer on the island.  They play against a LISA North and a LISA South team as well as a team from Upper Island North (Riptide) and Upper Island South (Storm).

Riley a grade 8 student from West-Mont contacted us to see about completing a work experience program designed to help students develop work skills and gain experience in the community. Riley had a great resume for the soccer office.  He’s been a TimBits coach, he’s a small-sided referee, he plays the game and he likes being organized – we knew it would be a winning combination.

We were very impressed with Riley’s attention to detail on the first day when, while making ID cards, he noticed that two ID cards had the same photo on them. He represented himself and his school very well as he was willing to jump in and finished all the tasks he was assigned.  He is a very professional young man that we will be watching out for in the future on and off the field.

Good luck to Riley’s U14 VIPL West team in the upcoming playoffs!
