Footballer of the Week – Daragh Fitzgerald

The VISL selection for Footballer of the Week is Daragh Fitzgerald of Nanaimo United FC Div 1.

He has been on a tear scoring wise for his squad – presently leading the Division with 12 goals.

Daragh has his hands in 3 different Leagues on the Island.  Besides playing in the VISL,  he is a Technical Director at Harbour City FC in Nanaimo (UISA), and he also coaches the Nanaimo United FC Premier Ladies Team in the LIWSA.

Friends and fans call him Fitzi.

Hometown: Edenderry, Ireland, moved to Canada in 2013.

School wise, he went to St.Marys, Edenderry, and his first Team was Edenderry Town FC.

Professionally, his favorite Team is Leeds United with his favorite player being Lucas Radebe.

Game Day Superstitions – he doesn’t believe in them!

Daragh is a talented  singer and guitar player…………..we might get him to do a couple songs at the banquet this year.

UFC wise – he cheered and continues to do so for McGregor.
